Honey, I’m Home!

Come Home to Yourself

Alchemy of Home lives to bring us all home. We are the creators of our world, and I’m here to empower you to do just that.

Alchemy is Served

Don’t mind me if I get a little bit personal today. Alchemy of Home has been percolating quietly for months- brewing, simmering, cooking not quite to perfection, but close enough to serve with enthusiasm. It’s wild to think that the time from conception to delivery has been just under 6 months. But here we are.

The thing is, I’ve always envisioned myself with a design business of sorts sometime in my 40s, but I assumed I’d save more money, get some certifications, and make that dream happen when I wasn’t under the metaphorical gun to earn an income or starve. However, life had other plans, it seems, and by now I’ve learned the art of the pivot at the big age of 35, and it appears the time for that dream business is now. I suspect there’s a reason for that.

Alchemy is Inevitable

For years, I’ve been obsessed with self-exploration and growth- imagining who I want to be and what I want to have and then taking action to make it happen. The thing I always forget though is that to become a new version of ourselves, we must let our old life and old versions of ourselves go.

It’s the falling apart of one form so that a new one can emerge
— Alchemy of Home

That’s the Alchemy of it all. It’s the falling apart of one form so that a new one can emerge. And we do this all the time. Relationships end. We move cities. Start new jobs. And we change. But what we don’t always do is take creative control of what the new version of ourselves will become. Sometimes, it’s not possible to do that, but sometimes it is. Sometimes we can choose. Sometimes we can envision a future and create the outcomes we want- maybe not exactly- but maybe sometimes even better?

We need creation more than ever

We’re in a precarious moment in history. We’re more productive than ever yet feel as if we are going nowhere. Culture is being flattened into AI slop (have you looked at Pinterest lately?!) and everywhere you look, everything is a carbon copy of itself- looking at you TikTok brain rot. The world demands more at every turn: more attention, more time, more money, more energy, more outrage, more empathy- it’s a wonder we haven’t all lost our minds. I personally feel like I have.

When I lost my corporate job 6 months ago, the only clarity I had was that I felt free for the first time in my life, and I wanted to do something meaningful- I want to create beauty in a world that feels like it’s falling apart. I want to teach other people how to do this too. I want to empower people to reclaim their creative power, because we all have it. And the one place that can act as our mirror and show us exactly how powerful, magical and beautiful we are is our home.

Because here’s the thing: if you’re reading this right now, I’m going to assume you’re holding a phone or browsing a computer, and that likely means you have the stability and freedom in your life that having a house (or apartment) to live in provides. This is truly a privilege. If you’re someone who can go home and lay their head down on a safe pillow at night, then you can create- and you need that. I need that. The world needs creation. The world needs beauty. The world needs connection, and it needs joy.

Alchemy of Home is a verb.
— Alchemy of Home

Alchemy of Home is a verb. It’s the action we take to alchemize what we have — to take what doesn’t work anymore or what’s no longer meant for us and change it into something new — something we choose, and something we create.

Intuition, preferences, love, and magic are inherently human, and yet we forget that we hold so much power. We forget that we are all creators. We are all alchemists. And home is one of the clearest places we can practice that alchemy — because when we reshape our space, we reshape ourselves.

All Roads Lead to Home

That’s why I’m not setting out to teach people how to design their homes for the vanity of it. I’m here because I believe with all my heart that when we pour our creative magic into our homes, they reflect that very magic back to us. It’s empowering. Our own creation becomes the first thing we wake up to and the last thing we see before bed, and that power, that magic bleeds into the rest of our lives.

Creativity, imagination, and intuition are not fluff. They are not luxuries. They are vital to the health of our bodies, minds, spirits, families, friends, pets, neighbors, and even the earth itself. That’s why the mission of Alchemy of Home is simple: to awaken that creative force in as many people as I possibly can, sending out ripples of beauty and energy as far as they can travel. Because beauty and joy are inextricably linked. Beauty awakens joy. Joy is beautiful. And now, more than ever, we need both.

I want Alchemy of Home to also feel like a home. When you land here, you can be yourself. You’re not judged. You’re not dismissed. You’re seen. You’re home. Your vision matters. Your voice matters. I don’t care if everyone on earth thinks your couch is hideous- if you love it, then honey, we are celebrating it!

Beauty belongs to you. Joy is your birthright. And I know in my bones that when we awaken it in ourselves, we reclaim our power. When we share it with others, we send it back to ourselves in return. That’s the heartbeat of this work, and it’s only just beginning.

So, I guess today is officially Alchemy of Home’s birthday. Thanks for coming to the party.
