The Home Alchemy Method

Move Over, DIY. DIT is Here to Stay
My name’s Liz, and I’m a recovering DIY-er.
I’m not someone who’s ever even considered hiring an interior designer to decorate my house. It’s never been something I could afford, and I’ve never really seen myself as someone who would hire one anyway. I love being creative, and I’m usually working on my house or rooms in phases — a little here, a little there, getting things done as I can. A designer has never been something I’ve entertained.
As Holistic Home Stylist, I think of the whole process — not a rug here and a paint swatch there, but every single step of changing a room from start to finish.
But DIY has it’s own downsides — plenty of them.
Any time I’d go to redo a room, I’d get so excited, so inspired, but it was always short-lived. As soon as a wave of motivation hit, reality came crashing in after.
I had to think about what I already had vs what I wanted, what was staying and what was going. I had to consider colors and finishes to make sure it all looked good together. I had to search and search for what I liked and what fit my budget. Etc, etc, etc…
I’d save all these tips and tricks that looked so easy online, but when I tried them myself, I ended up wasting so much time and money, because I didn’t account for how what I saw online would translate into my house. (Ask me about my backyard sometime.)
I’d feel defeated, stuck and overwhelmed — and decorating was my favorite hobby!
So I knew that other people were experiencing everything I was feeling and more, and I decided to do something about it.
DIY Is So Out
The biggest issue I realized was holding me and every DIY-er back wasn’t a lack of ideas or inspiration, it was the massive burden of doing it all alone.
DIY has a real bootstrap feel to it: Here are a thousand puzzle pieces — now put them all together the right way and make it amazing, and if it doesn’t look good, it’s all your fault.
You beat yourself up when the room looks unfinished or mismatched and you don’t know why. You end up wasting precious time, money and energy spinning your wheels, and resentfully wish someone else would just tell you what to do already.
You think you’re bad at decorating and give up halfway through or never even start at all.
And I think that’s a damn shame.
Because none of it is true. You’re not bad at decorating. You have good ideas.
But you’re expected to become your own designer with exactly zero support. Make that make sense!
DIT (Do It Together) Is Here To Stay
Now this is where everything changed for me. I realized that you (and I!) don’t need to pay thousands to hire a designer, but we don’t need to be DIY-ing alone either.
That’s where the Home Alchemy Method comes in. It’s the first-of-it’s-kind DIT Home Style Coaching that meets you where you are, in your home, with your budget and helps you change your space step by step.
Instead of guessing what to do first, second, third, etc, the Home Alchemy Method lays it all out, week by week, until your space is done.
Instead of sitting on things in your cart for 6 months or impulse buying an entire decor aisle at Home Goods, you work with a Holistic Home Stylist (me) to help you see how all the pieces create the big picture and finally start making decisions with confidence.
The home you imagine every day but can’t seem to get out of your head and into reality starts to take shape. You join a private cohort of other DIT-ers who are doing this too. You bounce ideas, get inspired, and most importantly, get it done.
The best part is that the Home Alchemy Method doesn’t follow strict design rules or box you into trends — it helps you uncover and express your own style in a way that makes sense for your real home and your real life.
You absolutely do not need to DIY by yourself anymore, and you don’t need to spend thousands on a designer either. You can join the Home Alchemy Method and get real-time guidance, support and coaching to make the home you have into the home you never want to leave.
If you want to learn more about the Home Alchemy Method, just pop on over to the homepage and check it out, or go ahead and book a free Room Audit with me (while available) and see what DIT is like first-hand. Did I mention it’s free?
Now that I know the power of DIT, I won’t be DIY-ing anymore, will you? Drop me a note with your thoughts or questions to hello@alchemy-of-home.com. I’d love to hear from you.
Talk to you soon.
